Jack Ross made a only a minor tweak and necessary switch as he prepared his side for the chance to claim their third win on the bounce.
Aiden McGeady’s rather lacklustre performance against Shrewsbury was apparently enough for him to get the hook as captain candidate George Honeyman returns to the side - and an injury to Josh Maja brings Lynden Gooch into the fold who will likely fill in for Jerome Sinclair; the on-loan man in turn taking Maja’s spot up top.
Taking these changes into account, this is what the team looks like:
Sunderland: Jon McLaughlin, Adam Matthews, Tom Flanagan, Jack Baldwin, Reece James, Lee Cattermole, Dylan McGeouch, Lynden Gooch, George Honeyman, Chris Maguire, Jerome Sinclair
Subs: Robbin Ruiter, Alim Ozturk, Luke O’Nien, Donald Love, Bali Mumba, Aiden McGeady, Benji Kimpioka
Ha’way, lads!
