As revealed on Roker Report earlier today, Sunderland have completed the signing of West Bromwich Albion winger Callum McManaman on a two-year deal on a free transfer, becoming the third new arrival of transfer deadline day.
McManaman, who had one-year remaining on his WBA contract has struggled for first team football since signing for the Baggies from Wigan in January 2015, playing only 25 times in total for Tony Pulis’ side.

The 26-year-old did join Sheffield Wednesday on-loan for the second half of last season and made 11 appearances, with only two of those from the starting XI but did contribute two assists for Carlos Carvalhal’s side.
McManaman started his career with Everton as a youngster before being released and joining the youth set-up at Wigan. The winger soon made a name for himself at Wigan when he became the youngest player to appear in the Premier League for the club, he then made headlines in the North East thanks to a shocking tackle on Newcastle’s Massadio Haidara for which he escaped punishment and then was named man of the match in the 2013 FA Cup Final.
The player joins a Sunderland side in need of reinforcements in attacking areas with the recent departures of Wahbi Khazri and Jeremain Lens and should provide pace and directness out wide, his arrival may also give Simon Grayson the option to play Duncan Watmore as a striker when the forward returns from injury.
