Simon Grayson could be about to make a major move in the transfer market with Crystal Palace making a late move for Lamine Kone and Bournemouth’s Marc Wilson set to replace him.

According to Graeme Bailey, Crystal Palace are favourites to Kone, although West Bromwich Albion are also keen, and are hoping to tie a deal up before the transfer window closes at 11pm.

Bailey then goes on to say that Wilson is all set for a medical with Sunderland after the club agreed a loan-deal with Bournemouth for the Irish international. Grayson looks to have beaten West Brom, Brighton and Hull City to the 28-year-old’s signature.

With Wilson and Jonny Williams set to join on loan, they will join Tyrias Browning, Brendan Galloway and Lewis Grabban in joining the club on loan and that uses up our loan quota with only five loan players allowed in a Championship matchday squad. Although Championship clubs can sign eight players on loan overall, it’s likely that any further arrivals today will be on permanent transfers, which should lead to an intriguing end to the transfer window with the club still chasing another striker, particularly if Kone’s departure frees up a significant transfer fee.
