Which of Sunderland’s Championship fixtures will be available on iFollow?

Heard of iFollow? Great. Here’s a guide on which of our upcoming games will be available *for international-based fans* via the service.

I guess at this stage we are all now pretty familiar with what iFollow is, what it offers, who it is available to and how to get it. We wrote this handy guide for the Norwich game, and the same basic instructions you can apply for each of the iFollow games coming up in the future.

Whilst Sunderland opted not to utilise the iFollow service (a decision, taken out of the the hands of international-based supporters, which has looked increasingly short-sighted) many of the clubs we will come to face this season did, meaning there will still be scope for fans to watch many of our Championship fixtures this season live online.

The only other clubs in the league who went the same route as Sunderland are Hull City and Middlesbrough, and none of the three clubs offer either iFollow or their own live streaming service.

QPR, Bristol City, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Birmingham City, Leeds United and Derby County all provide their own platforms via their club websites, with payment/subscription options differing depending upon the club.

With that in mind I’ve put together a handy list detailing which games are going to be available to watch for international viewers. Please note that Skysports/international broadcasters have only announced their TV fixtures up to the 1st of October, so it is to be expected that more of our games will end up on television regardless, meaning any that are chosen will not be available via the iFollow platform or the streaming platforms specific to individual clubs as a result.

The away fixture at Hull City on Saturday September the 16th (3pm kick off) has been selected for international broadcasting, meaning that it will appear on channels abroad such as BeIN Sports.

If you’re not quite sure about what iFollow is, or why Sunderland opted not to sign up for it, click here and read this.

Alternatively you are now able to watch full ninety minute replays of every game this season the day after they are played via a service now offered by in place of iFollow, which is available via subscription - you can click here to sign up.
