Sunderland's second pre-season friendly and the first of a summer mini-tour of Scotland with a visit to Livingstone to come on Wednesday.
Simon Grayson's men have been at Easter Road this afternoon to take on Neil Lennon's Hibernian in a testimonial for Lewis Stevenson. The game finished 2-2.
Wahbi Khazri gave Sunderland the lead on 43 minutes followed by a Jeremain Lens strike on 54 in the Dutchman's return to the Black Cats line-up following his season on loan at Fenerbahce. Hibs hit back in the second-half with goals from Boyle and Murray.
Here's our Graham with a quick recap of who played well this afternoon in that hideous [though Walshie likes it] red-and-white shirt.
First half line-up
Mannone - 7
Made some good saves, commanded his box very well, even his distribution wasn't bad. On this evidence more than happy if he remains at the club.
Love - 6
Got forward well but still a little suspect defensively, seems a little hesitant to get stuck in and prefers to stand off.
Kone - 6
Looked half-hearted but still head and shoulders above the rest at this level, no disrespect to Hibs. Wasn't really tested.
Djilobodji - 7
Cleared everything he had to and looked quite assured on the ball. Was probably the most impressive of the two centre-halves.
Jones - 4
Any Hibs danger came down his side as they seemed to pinpoint the weak spot. Needs replacing and even looked to struggle in a testimonial. Poor.
Rodwell - 5
Should have imposed himself more on the game, still seemed nervous to really get a foot in and disappeared quite quickly. Still require more from him.
Honeyman - 5
Was very quiet and didn't get involved anywhere near enough. Obviously got plenty of talent on the ball but his size psychically lets him down. Someone get him a decent meal.
Gibson - 7
Always available for a pass and distributed well. Could be very valuable at this level. Kept things ticking over and, whilst remaining quiet, his presence in the middle was needed when Hibs pressured us first half.
Embleton - 5
Ran down dead ends a little too much, doesn't look too small for this level but seemed a little nervous and too eager to impress.
Khazri - 9
His quality shines through in games like this, went quiet after a really bright opening, but his passing ability and quality on the ball shone above the rest of the players on the pitch. Scored a good goal.
Maja - 7
Played well for the opening 15 minutess, has a good engine and is surprisingly composed for a young boy. Faded a little as the half went on, but certainly giving himself a chance at being around the squad next year.
Mika - 5
Didn't do anything particularly wrong, but the defence didn't look quite as assured when he came on.
Matthews - 6
Saved an almost certain goal and winner for Hibs late on. Didn't do a great deal wrong.
O'Shea - 5
Like much of the defence, he looked shaky, as we conceded two second half. Put it down to match fitness.
Beadling - 4
Poor, the game looked above him and it would be fair to say he won't have done much to impress Grayson.
Galloway - 5
Got done countless times by Hibs' winger, not too sure if full back is his best position. Assured on the ball but needs to be better.
Cattermole - 7
Typically industrious, try telling Catts it's pre-season. Hit the post and managed to get into a fight. Lee Lee Lee!
Ndong - 6
A quiet game, but the minutes will be good to the legs. Pushed up high as usual, but looked tired in the last 10 minutes.
Ethan Robson - 4
I'm not sure he made one pass accurately. Wasn't impressed at all and looked overawed.
Greenwood - 6
Looks to have bulked up but still lacks strength and his final ball leaves a lot to be desired. There's something to work on though.
Gooch - 5
Pretty poor to be honest. Didn't get on the ball as much as we would have liked, but he definitely isn't a forward so how much can you expect?
Lens - 4
Scored a goal but ultimately he was pretty garbage, just not interested and is it now a case of the sooner he goes the better?
