Jordan Pickford - 9

My man of the match. He was fantastic - anyone watching him today will understand just why he's destined for a top club and the England #1 shirt.

Billy Jones - 7

Got forward well, was solid defensively and scored a good header. Much better from Jones, who has been poor for a while now.

Lamine Kone - 7

Better. Hopefully he finishes the season strongly so that we can get a decent fee for him in the summer from prospective buyers.

John O'Shea - 7

Solid and kept Niasse quiet all afternoon. Contributed to the first goal with his flick on - I think he's worth another year when we drop down a league, even if most don't.

Javier Manquillo - 6

Did his bit defensively but he kills so many attacks due to his insistence on turning back onto his right foot. Can't blame him too much though as he's playing out of position.

Jason Denayer - 7

His partnership with Ndong worked today and he was very assured. It was more like the type of midfield performance that he showed us late last year when we went through that decent spell of achieving good results.

Didier Ndong - 8

Always in charge of the midfield and rarely lost possession - another sterling performance from the Gabon international. He's been a rare shining light in a season of shite.

George Honeyman - 8

His work off the ball was very good and he always wanted the ball, which is encouraging. Won four free kicks, completed 92% of his passes and put a fantastic corner in which led to Billy Jones' goal. Overall, a very pleasing afternoon's work - he can hold his head high.

Fabio Borini - 6

Worked hard, I suppose. Didn't offer anything of note in an attacking sense, though did win us the free kick which led to our second.

Victor Anichebe - 5

Thought he was very poor. He was a real threat earlier in the season when he had Watmore and Van Aanholt buzzing around him but this afternoon he struggled to impact upon the game and looked frustrated for the most part.

Jermain Defoe - 6

His late goal perhaps masked over a poor performance from Defoe in front of goal this afternoon but we can't complain too much. His first in eleven games - he probably needed the confidence boost.

Sebastian Larsson - 5

Crossed the ball for our second but begrudge giving too much credit to either him or Defoe as it was blatantly offside.
