Interested in joining the Roker Report crew? We're recruiting a news writer!

Interested in becoming a part of the Roker Report team as a news writer? All the details on how to apply are below.

We need you!
Roker Report

Ahead of the summer transfer window and the new season we are looking to add to our talented team of Roker Report writers, specifically looking for someone that can join our news and current affairs team.

Here at Roker Report we like to do news a little differently to the local media and mainstream outlets. Whilst we pride ourselves on being predominantly a blog and fan site, ensuring that we provide our readers with news, supplemented by fan-oriented opinion and reaction, has become an important part of the Roker Report outfit and in order to take a little bit of pressure off the current news staff, we'd like to add to our squad.

Interested applicants should be aware that your main role with the site will be providing and sourcing news as well as presenting it and reacting to current events and developments, and with this comes some responsibility, so writing experience is preferred but not essential. More important is an ability to write clearly, concisely and quickly and of course have an understanding of what Sunderland fans are interested in.

In the main we're looking for someone that is self-motivated, enthusiastic about writing and, most importantly, is a massive lads fan.

It's an excellent opportunity for any supporter who is interested in becoming a part of a large, welcoming team of fan writers; perhaps for a Sunderland fanatic that has some spare time, or someone who has done some writing and would like to be published on a bigger platform, or even someone studying for a Sports Journalism degree. Having your work presented on a fan site that regularly reaches over 20,000 readers per day will look great on your CV or as part of your evidence for your studies.

If you are interested in getting involved, please email us here - RokerReport@yahoo.co.uk - with a brief introduction, an example of your written work and some words on why you think we should bring you on board.

We look forward to hearing from you - applications are open until 5pm on Thursday 1st June 2017.
