Fan Letters: Gibson, Wilson & Catts dawdling around prove it will get worse yet at Sunderland

O’Shea can’t jump, Catts can’t pass water and watching Gibson and Wilson dawdle round the pitch indicates the crisis at Sunderland will get worse yet, so these Roker Report readers suggest.

Dear Roker Report,

Right. Here's the thing. When he was in charge, Paolo Di Canio was slated because he publicly said that players at the club were a bit crap. The general consensus was that it is written in the stars that professional footballers must be immune to criticism.

Well, the fact is they are not.

To prove this, let's go - John O'Shea can't jump, Lee Cattermole couldn't pass water, Lamine Kone was a decent footballer when Sam Allardyce was his gaffer but he can no longer be arsed.

It does not matter who we get as the next manager because he's picking up a poisoned chalice under the current set up.

If we are going to dig ourselves out of this mire we need to get people who genuinely care for our club* to put right the wrongs that have been made by the current regime - and by that, I mean from the boardroom to the other millionaires that get paid to do nowt but kick a ball in the general direction of a metal rectangle.

*our club - By this I mean those of us who will still care about Sunderland AFC long after anyone else who is currently ruining the club have been long gone.

Dear Roker Report,

If Martin Bain thinks that Ally McCoist and Walter Smith are the answer to our problems then he is an inept ars*h*le.

Bain, please f**k off.

Dear Roker Report,

*insert team here* 1-0 Sunderland AFC.

Same old story for me. I’m unable to take any positives from yet another defeat. I find myself looking straight past the performance and straight to the result now, because in our current state a good performance and 0 points count for absolutely f**k all.

While watching the game I get a little angry now and then about a shit pass or a pathetic attempt at a tackle, followed by the opposing team unleashing a counter attack that always threatens to punish us, however I ultimately feel very little towards this club anymore.

The game yesterday finished, I sighed and immediately changed the channel.

On to the next defeat, I suppose.

Regarding the managerial issue, again this is something which I don’t really care about. Under Short and Bain I can’t imagine any manager being able to bring back any sort of success or stability to this club.

It’s been said many times recently that this group of players shouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom of the championship but when I watch the likes of Gibson, Wilson and, as much as I hate to say it, Cattermole dawdling about the pitch I start to question whether or not that is actually true.

The owner is clueless on how to run a football club, the CEO’s only ability is cost cutting, and the coaching/playing staff are not doing their job to the best of their abilities.

People saying it can’t get worse... think again.
