Progress & Week #25 Table

Gav's huge punt on a treble paid off and he storms back to the top of our table.

Elsewhere, Rory backed Everton to beat Palace with under 2.5 goals and it came in, earning him a sweet £40 in profit.

At the bottom, Chris remains well adrift of the rest. He's had an awful run of luck, bless him.

This Week's Bonus Prize...

The banker is feeling sorry for us because of how bad Sunderland have been playing, so he's agreed to give a free £5 to each pundit who wins a bet. If a pundit wins both of their bets this week, he'll give them £15!

@Gav1879

I'm going to throw in another treble again this week, seeing as I did so well with one last weekend. Newcastle, Burnley and Leeds all to win in the FA Cup returns £97.23 off £20.

Since there's no Sunderland to bet on, I'm going to take up Dafabet's priceboost on the darts for this weekend. Barneveld, Taylor, Anderson & Wright all to win in the Masters tonight (27/01) returns £65 off a maximum stake off £20.

Newcastle, Burnley + Leeds to win - £20 - returns £97.23

Barneveld, Taylor, Anderson & Wright all to win - £20 - returns £65

My winnings are picking up again now I'm not taking any risks. I'm going to keep things slow and steady so I end the season with a profit. Taking that into account my first bet for this week is a simple treble of Burnley, Spurs and Chelsea to win in the FA Cup 4th Round. They're all at home to lower league opposition (Bristol City, Wycombe Wanderers and Brentford, respectively). £10 on this has a modest overall return of £21.64, which will do me nicely.

Going overseas, both Celta Vigo and Hertha Berlin are good value for wins. Celta travel to struggling Leganes and Hertha visit mid-table Freiburg, with wins likely for both of the teams I'm backing. A slightly smaller stake on this one, as £5 could return a tidy £45.

Burnley, Spurs + Chelsea to win - £10 - returns £21.64

Celta Vigo + Hertha Berlin to win - £5 - returns £45

I can guarantee you Sunderland won’t lose this weekend. Actually, I’m still only 99% sure of that.

Because the Lads aren’t playing, I’ve decided to waste my money on two accas. The first one is the maximum fifteen team acca allowed on Dafabet (Reading, Gillingham, Northampton, Bolton, Scunthorpe, Plymouth, Celtic, Aberdeen, Chelsea, Spurs, Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Feyenoord, Ajax). I can hear you laughing at me from here. Now imagine wasting a fiver on that…

My second acca is purely FA Cup focused. I’ve gone for a few mini-upsets (e.g. Fulham) so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an exciting weekend of cup football. The ten teams I’ve gone for are: Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Fulham, Man Utd, Burnley, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Liverpool.

15 team accumulator - £5 - returns £1,993.04

10 team accumulator - £2 - returns £116.87

It’s FA Cup weekend and that means Sunderland have a weekend off! Hopefully my luck can change this weekend as I don’t have to put on a silly bet which involves Sunderland needing to win a game of football.

I’m backing a rather large and optimistic 11-fold accumulator whilst also placing £10 on Man Utd to beat Wigan under 2.5 goals.

Man Utd to beat Wigan under 2.5 goals - £10 - returns £36

Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Boro, Spurs, Brighton, Newcastle, Leeds, Barca, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid all to win - £10 - returns £428.16

Thankfully Sunderland aren't playing until Tuesday, which means I don't have to try and find value bets that don't revolve around us losing. As it's FA Cup weekend, I'm going to try and predict a couple of FA Cup shocks.

First up, Blackpool to win away to Blackburn Rovers. Neither side are in particularly good form but with Blackburn 23rd in the Championship, they may have other priorities, so a shock result here appeals.

Then it's top of the Conference Lincoln at home to top of the Championship Brighton. Brighton should win this but I'm hoping for the non-leaguers to get through to the fifth round, not only because it's a good story but it would also mean I've made some much needed profit.

Blackpool to win - £10 returns £43.33

Lincoln to win - £10 returns £45

As Sunderland, thankfully, don't have a game this week, I don't have to feel bad for betting against us. To replace this bet, I'll place a £10 bet on wins for Lazio, Antalyspor and Lyon.

My five-fold acca this week will be wins in Scotland for St Johnstone and Rangers, RB Leipzig to beat Hoffenheim in Germany, Galatasaray against Akhisar and, finally, Villarreal to pick up three points against Granada. I'll place another £10 on that too.

Lazio, Antalyspor and Lyon all to win: £10 returns £36.83

Fourfold accumulator - £10 - returns £89.92
