I'll just preface this - I feel that the referee had a shocker today, including for the decision which led to their last goal, but the fact remains that we didn't defend well enough at all today.
Jordan Pickford - 6
Wasn't much he could have done about the goals, really. It's such a shame that the defence in front of him is making him look worse than he is.
Patrick Van Aanholt - 4
Appalling defensively. Was too easily beaten for the first two Palace goals.
Papy Djilobodji - 6
Covered for Kone more than he should have needed to today, which says alot. Doesn't fill me with confidence though.
Lamine Kone - 5
Was bullied throughout by Benteke and just didn't seem himself.
Javier Manquillo - 5
Beaten too easily by Fryers for the Palace second. Decent enough otherwise.
Jan Kirchhoff - 4
Garbage. Strolls around and tries fancy passes too often. Where's the Jan from last season? Expecting abuse as he's the golden boy but thought he was as bad as anyone today and has been naff since coming back in to the side.
Lee Cattermole - 5
Very average, didn't have a great deal of influence on the game.
Dider Ndong - 7
Probably our strongest midfielder today. Worked hard, got stuck in and drove with the ball when he could. Would like to see him play wider against West Brom if possible but generally he did well.
Steven Pienaar - 6
Didn't really stay on the pitch long enough to do anything of note. Hope his injury isn't serious.
Adnan Januzaj - 3
Absolutely terrible. Lost the ball continuously and did absolutely nothing of note in the final third. Moyes needs to drop him because the overall balance of the side is being damaged by sticking with him.
Jermain Defoe - 8 (Man Of The Match)
Took both his goals well and probably could have had a few more. Even with him scoring we can't win games.
Duncan Watmore - 7
Worked tirelessly and won plenty of free-kicks. An improved showing from him.
Victor Anichebe - 6
Wasnt really on long enough to influence the game at all.
Paddy McNair - 6
Should have started, didn't. Poor from his manager.
