Finally: Premier League survival. So now relegation has been avoided what can we expect from the game against Watford?
Sunderland have a pretty good record at Vicarage Road and against The Hornets overall. Two wins and three draws from the last six visits is a decent haul. And overall Sunderland have won three and drawn two of the last six encounters against Watford.

Following a sequence that has secured Premier League survival its perhaps unsurprising that Sunderland come into the game with a better overall record, and it’s definitely solid results away from home that have contributed to that success.

Watford on the other hand have had mixed results at home in recent times. With two losses and three draws from the last six games.
Over the last ten games Sunderland are in much better shape, with fifteen points collected to Watford’s nine. They’ve also scored more, and conceded 12 goals less over the period. Watford have lost twice as many games, with a 60% loss rate over ten games – as a result Sunderland have superior defensive and attacking stats going into the game. A draw or Sunderland win is very much on the cards.
