Roker Riches: Week #15 - It's Getting Tight At The Top

Two players winning bets last week has given the top of the table a real shake up. Let's see what the lads are going for in week 15.

Wins for Gav and Danny last week has seen them both surge up the table. Gav is now out in front, whilst Danny has overtaken Rory by a mere 49p! It was a bad week for Andy though, as his losses has saw him fall into negative money but this happened to Danny a few weeks back and look at him now.

Let's see what the lads are recommending this week.

Fabio Borini keeps going closer and closer at the minute. He was unlucky with a couple of chances against Leicester and he's due a goal after not scoring since his last minute equaliser against Crystal Palace. Boylesports are offering 11/2 for Borini to score and Sunderland to win, i'll whack a fiver on it.

For my second bet, i'm going to a Serie A double. I'm going for Frosinone to beat bottom of the league Verona and for Chievo to win away at strugglers Udinese. Odds of 15/1 with Bet365 are pretty decent so it'll be another £5 on that for me.

Picks:

Fabio Borini to score and Sunderland to win: 11/2 - £5

Fosinone/Chievo double: 15/1 - £5

All of our games for the last few seasons have had a must win feel to them but this one is arguably the biggest must win of them all. I can only really predict a Sunderland win - as any other result doesn't bear thinking about - but we are not going to keep a clean sheet, so Sunderland to win and both teams to score is my prediction.

York are on an 11 game win-less run and are three points from safety at the bottom of League Two, they travel to Hartlepool who have only lost one of the last and are unlikely to get much luck against the Monkey Hangers. The hosts to win by two goals is 5/1 and that is my pick for this game.

Picks:

Sunderland to win and both teams to score: 11/2 - £5

Hartlepool to win by two goals: 5/1 - £5

Both my bets involve Sunderland this week and the first is for both teams to score, in our game against Norwich. It's such an important match for there not to be goals. If there isn't there really isn't any hope for either side.

The second is a Premier League double. First I think the scum will receive their knock-out blow this weekend. I think we'll see a much more confident, free flowing Swansea now they're pretty much safe and they'll will do 'em I reckon. The next is back to our match. We need a win simple as that, but it doesn't mean we'll get it. I do think we'll get a draw at least though. Defoe just seems to score goals on the road and somebody else is due to step up. We've been much better defensively since Kone and Big Jan came to the club so we should at least be competitive. Sunderland to win or draw is what I'll be going with.

Picks:

Norwich Vs Sunderland both teams to score: £11 returns £21

Swansea to win/Sunderland to Draw or Win: £10 returns £49.60

@GRokerReport

We have to win. It's a fact.

Unfortunately we are hopeless at defending, and have a particularly bad record at Carrow Road. Both teams to score and Sunderland to win is 5/1 with PaddyPower, and a fiver on that should hopefully see me win something this week.

Elsewhere, a Chester and Forest Green double in the Conference returns £22.50 off a tenner - nice and simple.

Picks:

BTTS & Sunderland to win: 5/1 - £5

Chester & Forest Green double: £10 returns £22.50

Now I've gone up to second, I'm not sure if I should play it safe or go for the jugular. My main issue is, I hate betting on Sunderland and I'm sure, without looking up this, I lose this pick most weeks. However, as I think we'll lose this week, I'm going to stick £3 on Norwich to win 2-0, which, at 11/1, would return £36.

My acca this week starts with Man United to beat Villa. Moving to the Championship, Boro to get a win against relegated Bolton away from home and out-of-form Ipswich to lose to their play-off rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. In League one, Bradford to either win or draw against Shrewsbury and in form Rochdale to sink Blackpool closer to relegation by picking up all three points at home. Finally, in League Two, Accrington to beat Morcambe and Oxford to either win or draw against Luton.

Picks:

Single: Norwich to win 2-0: 11/1 - £3

Seven fold: Man Utd, Middlesbrough, Sheff Wed, Rochdale and Accrington all to win. Bradford and Oxford to either win or draw: 10.81/1 - £7
