Sunderland 0-2 Leicester City: Player Ratings

A defeat to the league leaders for Sunderland, here's how the lads played.

Vito Mannone - 5
Started the game by looking quite shaky and was his usual poor self when it came to distributing the ball. Question marks over his decision making for the first goal but he did produce some decent saves at 1-0.

Patrick van Aanholt - 7
Pushed forward well, especially when the game became a bit more stretched. Good ball to find Rodwell for Sunderland's bet chance of the game too.

Younes Kaboul - 7
Didn't do much wrong and got us out of trouble a few times with some good tackles and interceptions. In a game where few Sunderland players shone, he was the best.

Lamine Kone - 7
Like Kaboul, didn't do a lot wrong and brought the ball out from the back well. He's turning into our "Mr Consistent."

DeAndre Yedlin - 6
Frustrated at times with some poor decision making, but always tried to give us an option going forward and made some decent challenges.

Jan Kirchhoff - 6
Won the ball back excellently but his passing wasn't up to his usual high standard, bar a lovely cross field ball to Borini in the first half.

Yann M'Vila - 5
Didn't do a lot in possession, despite his effort. Worked well off the ball though.

Lee Cattermole - 5
A real game of two halves for Cattermole. In the first he seemed to be controlling Sunderland's play but he totally faded in the second with some very sloppy passing.

Wahbi Khazri - 5
Found himself in some good positions with the ball at his feet but failed to deliver. A game to forget for him.

Fabio Borini - 6
Ran himself into the ground, as always and if Sunderland were to score it probably would have came from him. Should have buried his chance that he somehow managed to hit off his own face.

Jermain Defoe - 4
Was bossed by Morgan and Huth. Didn't get the best service but you didn't see him trying to make his own luck very much.

Dame N'Doye - 3 (Sub)
I can't think of anything to say about him. Didn't do anything of any real note.

Jack Rodwell - 3 (Sub)
Had Sunderland's best chance of the game and failed to hit the target. Summed up his and the teams day.

Jeremain Lens - 5 (Sub)
Like Khazri, didn't really do anything when he got the ball in a decent area.

Man Of The Match - Younes Kaboul
