Progress & Week #19 Table
It was a good week for accumulators last week as both Danny Roberts and Dan Parker made some decent profit from those bets - Danny's fivefold brought him a whopping £80.55 of profit, catapulting him into third place in our pundit's table.
Chris Sparks' shocking run of form has seen him slump to - £100. Pathetic really.
This Week's Bonus Prize...
Sunderland play Watford this weekend, and the banker has offered to duplicate the stakes next week's Sunderland bet for each writer if David Moyes' men can keep a clean sheet against the Hornets on Saturday.
Writer's Picks For Gameweek #19
@ChrisSavedLatin
Well I’m £100 in the red now thanks to Sunderland deciding not to turn up in Wales last weekend. It appears that whatever I bet, the opposite happens, so for the greater good I’m going to bet on Watford to win, so that Sunderland in fact win. Logic.
Elsewhere I’m backing Chelsea to draw with Crystal Palace and under 2.5 goals at 4/1. Chelsea have had a busy week and I’m backing palace at home to steal a low scoring draw. Time to claw my way back to zero!
Watford to beat Sunderland: 9/5 - £10 returns £28
Chelsea and Crystal Palace to draw under 2.5 goals: 4/1 - £10 returns £50

Back to keeping it simple for me after two losses last week. A price boost of Sunderland to win with both teams to score is catching my eye, especially since BTTS bets have done me a good turn so far this season. We love conceding but Watford are hardly the bastions of clean sheets, so it's likely that there'll be goals in the game. Odds of 11/2 are canny and £5.50 gives me an overall return of £35.75.
I'm keeping it domestic for my other bet and it's a double. Birmingham have been unsettled by a pointless managerial change and they face a strong looking Brighton team. I'll back The Seagulls. Back to the Premier League relegation battle and Swansea have another six pointer when they travel to The Riverside to face Middlesbrough. A tough one to call, so I'll go down the middle and back a draw. The return is similar to my Sunderland bet, with a fiver bringing in £34.94.
Sunderland to win & BTTS: £5.50 - 11/2
Brighton & Swansea - Boro draw: £5 - £34.94

Just the thirteen team acca for me this week. But it's Christmas and I'm holding out for a miracle. If this cashes in, it's mince pies all round. Aiming to bring me Christmas joy are: Chelsea, Man U, West Ham, Spurs, Sheff Wed, Bolton, Doncaster, Celtic, Bayern, Sevilla, Barca, Nice, and Club Brugge. I can honestly say this is the first time I've bet on Club Brugge.
In the same way that I won't stop betting on ridiculous accas, I also won't stop betting on Jermain Defoe. He's won me money in the past and I'm backing him at £5 to be first scorer this weekend too. Really crucial game on Saturday and we need Jermain back among the goals... Ha'way the Lads!
£5 acca returns £556.74
£5 on Defoe first goalscorer at 17/4

Last week's result was a disaster, not only did we lose but we lost comprehensively to a relegation rival while putting in an abject performance. We did improve our performance against Chelsea and were unlucky not to get something from the game but we need another win and I'm backing us to get it. Watford have been inconsistent this season but they have saved their best performances for Vicarage Road, so Sunderland being 11/2 to win and for both teams to score is good value.
Leicester looked like they may have turned a corner when they beat Manchester City 4-2 last week but they couldn't follow that up and were beaten at Bournemouth in midweek. Stoke have turned around their form since beating us in October as they have only lost twice since and one of those was away to Arsenal, in midweek they were down to 10-men for more than an hour at home to Southampton and still came away with a point. I'm backing the home side to get all three points here and in relatively comfortable fashion.
Sunderland to win and both teams to score: 11/2 - £10
Stoke to win 2-0: 11/1 - £10
@DJRoberts22
Nice and simple for me this week - I'm taking up Dafabet's price-boost on Jermain Defoe to get the first goal in this weekend's game along with a tasty five-fold that I feel has a strong chance of coming in.
Jermain Defoe to score first: £3 - 17/4
Celtic, Benfica, Sheffield Wednesday, Feynoord & Scunthorpe: £5 returns £32.15

Like Rory, I like the look of Dafabet's price-boost on Sunderland to win and both teams to score, so I'm going to place eight quid on that. Bring it home, Moyesy lad.
Elsewhere I'm going for a treble - Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace, Brighton to beat Birmigham and AFC Fylde to beat Gloucester City. I'm pretty confident with this one - for what reason I have no idea why - so I'm taking a risk and placing £30 on it.
I could look like a right idiot if this one fails to materialise.
Sunderland to win & BTTS: £8 - 11/2
Chelsea, Brighton & Fylde to win: £30 returns £165
