As you can well imagine, the day-to-day running of Roker Report can be rather hectic.
One of our most important jobs, however, is in match coverage - and we're looking for someone that will own that role as part of our ever-expanding team of writers.
This role would be perfect for an exile that watches all of our games away from the North East.
What Is Expected?
Well, we need someone that can write match reports immediately after the completion of the game and then write up their player ratings, both of which will go online within an hour of the match finishing. The deadlines are tight but it's very rewarding - your work is seen by tens of thousands worldwide and, on average, are often our most read/popular articles on the site.
There's also scope for you to man our social media accounts during games if you're adventurous, and the opportunity to also contribute regularly to other features, our Podcast and with original opinion pieces.
What Do We Want?
We want someone that, first and foremost, is enthusiastic and reliable. We don't want to bring someone on board only for them to lose interest quickly, so keep that in mind.
Obviously, we want someone that can write well too. Everything that goes online on our site goes through an editorial process but with the match coverage, we need to be able to trust that the writer can complete their work to a high standard so that there is very little touching up to do on it.
How Do You Apply?
Please send an email to rokerreport@yahoo.co.uk with a brief introduction as to who you are and why you support Sunderland, why you think we should bring you on board, what you'll bring to the team and an example of your written work.
The window for applications closes on Friday at 6pm! Good luck.
