Sunderland have confirmed that they've completed the signing of Bordeaux playmaker Wahbi Khazri on a four-and-a-half year contract.

Khazri signs for an undisclosed fee - thought to be around £8.5m - and becomes Sam Allardyce's fifth signing as Sunderland manager after Jan Kirchhoff, Dame N'Doye, Steve Harper and Lamine Kone.

Allardyce was delighted to welcome the 24-year-old to the club, telling safc.com;

Wahbi is a quick, dynamic attacking player.

He has many attributes, not least his delivery from wide areas and set pieces and of course his ability to score goals.

His versatility will certainly complement our existing forward options and I am delighted to welcome him to the club.

The player could make his debut against Manchester City on Tuesday evening and has been handed the number 22 shirt.
