Sunderland and Bournemouth played out a draw at the Stadium Of Light, here’s how the lads played.

Vito Mannone– 6

Could have done better with Afobe’s goal and he hadn’t a lot to do in the second half

Billy Jones– 5

Had a difficult day up against Stanislas and took his frustrations out on the attacker late on with a terrible tackle. Jones had a free header saved early in the second half.

Patrick Van Aanholt– 7

Looked good going forward but still question marks defensively, as Bournemouth’s goal came from a cross from his side. He scored another great goal to get Sunderland level and looks to be playing with a lot more confidence.

Wes Brown – 5

Looks tired and switched off when Grabban was played clean through late on.

John O’Shea – 5

Defence looked open at times especially in the first half and he shouldn’t have let Afobe get his header on target for his goal

Lee Cattermole– 6

Usual workhorse in midfield continually battling away however a couple of misplaced passes when trying to create stopped attacks.

Yann M’Vila – 6

First half performance was awful however second half performance was a lot better in every area as Sunderland got forward a bit more.

Adam Johnson – 6

Johnson kept receiving the ball to deep and was unable to get forward quick enough to create a lot.

Fabio Borini– 6

Was subbed early in the second half looking frustrated. He played a lovely ball to Van Aanholt for the goal.Three times in the second half he made runs but was ignored every time when he should have received the pass. But a good shift from Borini.

Jeremain Lens– 6

Sunderland kept forcing passes all day but Lens’s work rate in attack and defence is a lot better than it was.

Jermain Defoe– 5

Never really had a sniff all day apart from chances he created himself as the service to him was poor.

Duncan Watmore– 6 (Sub)

Full of running and energy and he gave Sunderland a bit more life when he was introduced but he was unable to create too much.

Jack Rodwell– 4 (Sub)

Unsure why he was brought on instead of another striker as he didn’t really do much.

Man Of The Match – Patrick Van Aanholt
