Gooch - a USA under 20's international - has joined the South Yorkshire club on an initial twenty-eight day loan deal and goes straight into their squad ahead of their trip to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
BREAKING: Welcome to #DRFC Lynden Gooch who has signed from @SunderlandAFC on a one month loan! More to follow... pic.twitter.com/Yy8ghbQm73

Sunderland have high hopes for Lynden and being able to play for a side in contention forthe promotion places in league one is a fantastic opportunity. The Vikings are short of quality out wide and Darren Ferguson has a proven track record with developing young talent, so it should be interesting to see how much he plays.
Delighted to join @drfc_official on loan! Can't wait to get started on Saturday away to Fleetwood! Thank you for all the messages! #DRFC ⚪️

Gooch made his debut for Sunderland in September's Capital One Cup victory over Exeter City and was highly impressive having replaced Adam Matthews in the second half. Should his loan at Doncaster Rovers be a success he could well see his loan extended beyond the initial one month deal.
In the summer of 2014 we profiled Gooch in more detail, which you can read here.
