Black Cats To Debut Green Look In Pachuca Game

A bag of Walkers Salt and Vinegar crisps? The Incredible Hulk? Magic Tree air freshener? The ASDA logo? Freshly cut grass?

Sunderland today unveiled their new away kit for the forthcoming season - and it's rather green.

The new-look strip, which replaces last season's blue ensemble, is set to be debuted in tomorrow morning's (03.30am GMT) friendly against Mexican side Club De Futbol Pachuca at Bonney Field in Sacremento, which airs live free to air on Youtube.

The official press release, unveiled via SAFC.com, stated:

The 2015-16 away shirt, which is embedded with adidas climacool performance technology, moves in a new direction away from traditional designs of the past.

Featuring a tonal green base with impactful solar yellow pop, the kit will make a strong impact on and off the field. Mirroring the design feature on the home shirt, the away shirt incorporates meshing detail on the collar, sleeves and hem, this time in the vibrant solar yellow colour. The shorts and socks are green with solar yellow trim.

HOW TO ORDER

Fans can pre-order their shirts from Thursday 06 August in the online store. The kit will go on sale online and in club stores located at the Stadium of Light, The Galleries in Washington or Debenhams in The Bridges, Sunderland from 9am on Thursday 13 August – two days before the Black Cats first home game of the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League campaign, against Norwich City.

I quite like it. I can't remember the last green away kit we had and it may be a little confusing on the eyes when the players wearing it are running around a green field but overall I think it's a canny kit. Look, it's got the Sunderland badge on, which is all that matters I suppose.
