The Premier League fixtures for the 2015/16 season have been announced and, for once, they aren't too daunting for Sunderland.
In previous seasons there has seemed to have been a flurry of tough home fixtures at the start that kind of stunt opportunities for early momentum, but there can be no such excuses this time. Dick Advocaat's men start off with a trip to Leicester City before a home double-header against Norwich City and Swansea City and a trip to Aston Villa.
The home derby against Newcastle is scheduled for October 24, while the reverse fixture at St James' Park is March 19. Boxing Day, meanwhile, means a trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad.
December and February look to be the trickiest months on paper by far, but you kind of expect a couple of tough runs of games at this level, so you can live with it. An away trip to Swansea on a Tuesday night isn't exactly kind for travelling fans, though.
Anyway, see below for the full fixtures and how you can get your hands on a season card to see it.
Sunderland AFC will kick off the new Barclays Premier League season with a trip to Leicester City on Saturday 08 August, following confirmation of the fixture schedule for the 2015-16 campaign this morning.
The Black Cats will then welcome newly-promoted Norwich City to the Stadium of Light seven days later, in the opening home game of the 2015-16 season, on Saturday 15 August, 2015.
The hotly anticipated Wear-Tyne derby is provisionally scheduled for Saturday 24 October at the Stadium of Light, with the reverse fixture at St James' Park set to take place on Saturday 19 March.
Sunderland will travel to Manchester City for the traditional Boxing Day clash, followed by home ties on December 28 against Liverpool and Saturday 02 January against Aston Villa.
The season concludes on Sunday 15 May 2016, when the Black Cats will face newly-promoted Watford.
Supporters are reminded that all fixtures remain provisional at this stage and will be subject to change. The initial round of games selected for live broadcast will be announced in the coming weeks and further televised fixtures will be confirmed throughout the season.
Sunderland fans can guarantee their place at all 19 home Barclays Premier League games for the new campaign by purchasing a season card. Prices start from £400 for adults, with special concessions for under 16s and over 65s, along with fantastic family discounts representing huge savings on buying individual match tickets.
An adult and junior (under 16) season card package in the stadium's popular Family Zone is just £425. An additional child can also be added to this package for just £25. For more information, visit the Stadium of Light ticket office, call 0871 911 1973 or log on to www.safc.com
