Safe. Heroes. Wooo!

Costel Pantilimon - 9

Made a string of brilliant saves that just spread belief throughout the side. Brilliant season from a brilliant signing.

Billy Jones - 8

A very shaky moment when he headed against his own bar, but heroic nonetheless.

John O'Shea - 8

No real dramas from the skipper and certainly played his part.

Sebastian Coates - 10

Man of the match. Here is why.

Patrick van Aanholt - 8

A little wayward with his adventure at times, but still part of a hell of a committed display.

Lee Cattermole - 8

Iffy at times but did the usual Lee Cattermole stuff without getting booked.

Seb Larsson - 9

Played for half an hour on one leg after injury and was still brilliant. Hero.

Adam Johnson - 8

Not all that influential but did his bit.

Jermain Defoe - 8

Played most of the night at left back and did okay. Continues to show a tremendous attitude.

Connor Wickham - 6

Okay, that's generous, but I don't care.

Danny Graham - 6

Also generous. Don't care about that either.

Jack Rodwell (Sub) - 7

Threw himself into tackles and added some shape to the midfield.

Steven Fletcher (Sub) - 7

Missed some glorious chances, but at least he was working the Arsenal back four.

Will Buckley (Sub) - 6

Did lots of Will Buckley things. Ran around and stuff.
