Costel Pantilimon – 6

Made two one on one stops when Watford counter attacked late on.

DeAndre Yedlin– 4

Brought off after 17 minutes in a tactical change. However Yedlin was poor and gave the ball away constantly.

Billy Jones– 5

Involved down the right side throughout however the end product wasn’t good enough

Seb Coates – 5

Cleared the ball off the line in the first half and tracked back to deny Ighalo in the dying stages.

John O’Shea – 5

Ighalo turned him inside out in the first half, but O’Shea recovered in the second half and did ok.

Patrick Van Aanholt– 6

Tried his best going forward all day and overall a solid performance

Yann M’Vila – 5

The game was far too open in the early stages and too many misplaced passes gave Watford far too many chances. Not one of M’Vila’s best outings.

Ola Toivonen – 4

Created nothing and didn’t make any influence on the game.

Fabio Borini– 4

Created very little and seemed to spend more time laying on the ground.

Duncan Watmore– 6

Tried his best throughout running at defenders and had a shot from long range go close in the second half.

Steven Fletcher– 6

Showed plenty of effort but squandered a couple of opportunities by not using his right foot.

Jack Rodwell–  6 (Sub)

Looked better than he has in previous outings. He had a shot saved by Gomes and he was involved in play a lot more than usual.

Adam Johnson– 5 (Sub)

Tried to create but found himself too far away from goal and the ball was being threw into the box so Johnson didn’t have much to go on.

Jermain Defoe– 6 (Sub)

The service into him wasn’t fantastic so he had very little to work with. He scored an offside goal and also forced Gomes into a wonder save late on.
