Young Black Cat: My First Derby Day

8 year old Sunderland supporter Henry Robson has contacted Roker Report to tell us about his first derby day experience. We thought we'd share it with you as it's not only a great piece it's also a fantastic reminder to us all why games like the one on Sunday get us all hooked on this club of ours at such a young age. This is his day, in his own words...

Over to you Henry..

I was feeling all nervous and excited at the thought of my first Tyne-Wear derby. I had butterflies in my stomach. I didn't know if we would win, lose or draw. I knew how important it was to get the win and keep the run going!

On my way to the Stadium of Light I felt the excitement building up, I felt sick! My daddy went completely silent and was wondering if today was the day the luck ran out.

The atmosphere was extraordinary. It was just so loud! All I could think was how much I wanted them to win! The first half was good, I think Jermaine Defoe played well in the first half, he came on for Ola Toivonen. Then, right on half time Sunderland won a penalty! Red card to Newcastle's captain!!  Johnson took this... GOAL! S.A.F.C. 1-0 N.U.F.C!

A few minutes into the second half, Sunderland won a corner M'vila volleyed it and Jones tapped it in! GGGGGOOOOOAAAAALLLLL! S.A.F.C. 2-0 N.U.F.C! In the 86th minute M'Vila passed it to Kaboul, he hit a first time pass to Fletcher who volleyed it to the bottom corner. GGGGGOOOOOAAAAALLLLL! S.A.F.C. 3-0 N.U.F.C! Full time!

After the game I felt happy and like a lucky charm!! We had won, we got the win, we got 6 in a row! YYYYYYYYYYIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
