The game, which kicks off at 3pm, is set to feature a number of players from our under 21's and under 18's sides and could well feature the likes of hometown boy Danny Graham, David Moberg-Karlsson and young stars like Mikael Mandron and George Honeyman, who both have featured and impressed for the first team in the majority of our pre-season friendlies thus far.
The game is advertised as Gateshead FC v Sunderland AFC XI, so who actually plays is anyone's guess. When we sent a select eleven to Boston United last Saturday the team featured the likes of Karlsson, Watmore, Graham and Honeyman and, when we faced Grimsby Town on Tuesday night, many of the youngsters had been flown out to play in Portugal for the senior side, meaning Danny Graham was the only senior player that featured.
That said, some of our most exciting young talents could be on show and it's a great opportunity to see how they fare against strong opposition in Gateshead, who have been widely tipped to win the Conference in the coming season after enjoying a very successful league run last time around which ended in a play-off final defeat to Cambridge United.
Former Sunderland players Jamie Chandler, Ben Clark and John Oster could all feature for tomorrow's opponents, with the game being their final run out before taking on recently relegated Torquay United in their season opener next Saturday afternoon.
If you are interested in making the short trip to Gateshead, tickets are available on the door, priced at £10 for Adults and £5 for concessions. It's a five minute walk from Gateshead Stadium metro, and there's plenty of parking around the ground if you choose to drive.
