There has been talk of Emanuele Giaccherini returning to Italy for some time and it continues no matter how much he and his agent try and deny it. Now another rumour has cropped up which has again linked Giaccherini with a move back to Serie A, only this time it would be with a player coming the other way.
According to Gazzetta di Parma, Sunderland and Stoke are both interested in French winger Jonathan Biabiany, with Sunderland having the most interesting proposal due to the possibility of a swap deal with Giaccherini.
Parma were linked with Giaccherini in January, while Sunderland were previously linked with Biabiany last summer during Roberto de Fanti's spell as Director of Football.
Biabiany is primarily a winger known for his outstanding pace, something that Sunderland are clearly missing in the side but any potential move is likely to be complicated by the fact he signed a new four-year deal as recently as February and Giaccherini's wages, which he admitted himself is unlikely to be matched in Italy.
