Cardiff Deny Midfielder Deal

The chairman of Cardiff City has denied that Sunderland have agreed a deal to sign Jordon Mutch.

Sunderland had reportedly agreed a £1.5m deal for Cardiff City midfielder Jordon Mutch but, according to the Welsh club's chairman Mehmet Dalman, claims that we had agreed a fee with Cardiff for the 22-year-old were 'totally wrong'.

Dalman went on to say that Mutch was very much in the club's plans and that they had received no offers at all for the midfielder;

We have not received any bids for Jordon and he is in our manager's plans for next season.

Jordon is a Cardiff City player and that will not change.

It does appear as if Mutch will be staying put for the time being but with Gus Poyet reportedly interested in signing the midfielder, it remains to be seen if Cardiff will hang onto him if they receive a serious bid considering he only has one year left on his contract, a situation Dalman will be hoping to resolve with reports suggesting he will look to offer Mutch a new contract before the start of the season.
