Nacho Scocco and his agent have made it clear in the last week or so that the striker wishes to return to Argentina, with his former club Newell's his preferred destination, now the President of the Rosario based club have said they have made an offer for Scocco and are waiting for a reply from Sunderland.
Guillermo Lorente, speaking to Zapping Sport, explained that although they have made an offer for Scocco and the player wishes to return to the club, Newell's are struggling to raise the funds for the striker;
We've started bargaining, it is not simple and it is expensive because Newell's is not at a time to devote such and such amount to Nacho.
We have spoken with him, with the club from England and have the great advantage that is the will of the player.
We have made the proposal and we are waiting for the decision of the club Sunderland.
Boca Juniors are also interested in Scocco and were thought to be readying a bid once they had finalised the sale of Juan Sanchez Mino to Torino but despite that transfer going through, Scocco's agent Fabian Soldini has said Boca have their work cut out to convince the 29-year-old to sign for them due to the player's desire to return to Newell's.
