Seb Larsson is one of many Sunderland players who is out of contract in the summer and with Gus Poyet wanting talks delayed until the end of the season when the club know for sure which division they will be in, the Swedish midfielder has said he still doesn't know where his future lies.

Speaking to after his winning goal at Old Trafford at the weekend, Larsson was asked whether he would still be at Sunderland next season;

Good question, I have no answer to that question.

The contract expires, there is no decision taken about the future, but of course it is the case that when a contract expires, there is a chance to play football elsewhere when no new contract is agreed.

The Swedish international admitted that he has not yet started discussions with Sunderland over a contract extension but like the club, he wants to concentrate on finishing the season and keeping them team in the Premier League;

It has been a frustrating season for many reasons.

But the last few matches have felt good. Both for the team and personally it has gone well. It's been nice actually.

Hopefully we can finish with two good games, then it will be certainly a good finish.

Then once the season is over he will look to resolve his future;

I've learned that you should not let emotions take over too much.

One must do as much as possible, make it clear this season and then sit down in the summer and take a decision.

Larsson was most recently linked with Stoke City but he has also been linked with clubs from Germany, Turkey and France and whatever happens in the next week, once the season is over Poyet and Lee Congerton will have their work cut out if they intend to keep any of the out of contract players, particularly Larsson, Jack Colback and Phil Bardsley, with each player being highly sought after.
