Sunderland Ladies Ready For Big Kick Off

As one Sunderland team readies itself to step down, another is on the brink of a proud new adventure. Good luck to them!

We often get asked if we will ever be covering the Sunderland AFC Ladies team and the answer is that we barely have the energy to cover the full senior Sunderland side. It does seem to be of genuine interest to many though, and rightly so, so here is the latest:

Sunderland AFC Ladies will take on Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend, at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground in Hetton

The team began their FA Cup campaign with impressive victories over Oxford United and Watford Ladies, with the fifth round tie taking place on Sunday 13th April, kicking off at 2pm.

Entry to the game includes a special price of just £2 for SAFC season card holders (upon production of valid season card), whilst it's £4 for adults and just £1 for concessions (over 65s and under 18s).

The new Women's Super League season kicks off in just over a week's time, with the Lady Black Cats opening their campaign against North East rivals Durham Women's FC on April 17th. They will get their home campaign underway three days later, welcoming Reading Women FC to the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground on Sunday 20 April, 2.00pm kick-off.

Season cards for the WSL campaign are available to purchase from www.fawsl.com, priced at just £38 for adults, £18 for SAFC season card holders and £12 for concessions and include all home league games for the WSL season (11 games).
