Having recently joined the club on loan, Carlisle United boss Graham Kavanagh has revealed that he is keen to keep top goalkeeping prospect Jordan Pickford for the remainder of the season.
Speaking about Pickford and fellow loanee, Wigan's Danny Redmond, Kav told the Hartlepool Mail;
We haven't spoken yet, but I would definitely want to keep both of them for as long as I can.
They have been great additions to the club, both in and around the group and also getting valuable minutes.
We are allowing them to make their mistakes with us, but their clubs have also been first-class in entrusting us with their players.
Any minutes are good for a young player, especially a goalkeeper, so it's likely that with Oscar Ustari now at the club Pickford will be allowed to continue his footballing education across the Pennines.
If Pickford is to progress in his career though, the club will be hopeful that some eye-catching performances whilst at Carlisle will propel him to a loan at a bigger club next season.
