Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is expecting to be fit to face Sunderland in the League Cup Final next month.
The Brazilian was a surprise exclusion from the Citizens' line-up when they lost against Chelsea this week, with Argentinian centre back Martín Demichelis stepping into the midfield with fairly comical results.
However, Fernandinho has said via Twitter his injury is not a bad one, and he should be back into the City engine room in a couple of weeks.
From a Sunderland point of view, it really wouldn't have been the end of the world for Fernandinho to have been injured for the cup final! Still, it is worth noting that should his prognosis prove accurate, he will be missing from the Manchester City midfield when we play them in the Premier League.
