The team sheets are in.

Gus Poyet made two changes to the Sunderland side that beat Newcastle United last week, with summer signings Billy Jones and Ricky Alvarez both coming into the team.

Jones returns from injury to replace Anthony Reveillere, who himself is now injured. Wes Brown is rested, handing Sebatstian Coates another start after his fine performance at St James' Park. Alvarez, meanwhile, replaces the suspended Connor Wickham.

Sunderland (4-3-3): Costel Pantilimon; Santiago Vergini, John O'Shea, Sebastian Coates, Billy Jones; Lee Cattermole, Sebastian Larsson; Jordi Gomez; Adam Johnson, Steven Fletcher, Ricky Alvarez.

Subs: Vito Mannone, Liam Bridcutt, Wes Brown, Jack Rodwell, Jozy Altidore, Emanuele Giaccherini, Will Buckley.

Steve Bruce selected some players, though it's not easy to decipher any kind of a pattern. I don't even know what kind of formation they are looking at.

Former Sunderland duo Ahmed Elmohamady and David Meyler start, but £20million forward duo Abel Hernandez and Nikica Jelavic are on the bench.

Hull City: Allan McGregor, Liam Roseior, Alex Bruce, James Chester, Curtis Davies, David Meyler, Robbie Brady, Sone Aluko, Gaston Ramirez, Ahmed Elmohamady, Stephen Quinn.

Subs: Steve Harper, Maynor Figueroa, Abel Hernandez, Nikica Jelavic, Yannick Sagbo, Tom Ince, Harry Maguire.
