Midfielder 'Not Thinking Of Leaving' Sunderland

Any suggestion that Emanuele Giaccherini may be looking to return to Italy any time soon can probably be dismissed for now.

Emmanule Giaccherini insists he is not seeking a January move away from Wearside following speculation linking him with Serie A side Napoli.

The Italian international, who has been injured for most of the season so far but is nearing a return, was said to be 'flattered' by Partenopei's interest but, speaking to an Italian radio station, has distanced himself from talk of a transfer:

The Premier League is the most beautiful in the world and today there are not the conditions to return to play in Italy. At Sunderland I feel good and I am not thinking of leaving.

One thing you could always say about Giaccherini since he arrived at Sunderland is that he has been an absolute model professional. Even when he has not been playing he has never agitated for a move or even complained publicly, and he has always sought to cool talk of him leaving.

Hopefully the speculation can die down for a little while now and he can produce the form he was threatening to before his injury.
