Many times in football you'll hear the analogy of a roller coaster ride being thrown at you. I'll spare you that one, I'm sure that the depression of returning to work pretty much means you don't wanna be patronised in any way. It's hard not to think of the highs and lows that draws the very comparisons, however, when you consider we became the first side to win a league game at Goodison Park in a million years, only to pick up an extremely disappointing one point from two very, very, very, very winnable home games.
It's the Sunderland way.
Plenty of stuff to dissect right there then, not to mention the transfer window opening, something that should surely be confirmed on New Years Eve by the sight of Jim White bursting into the Sky Sports News studio at the stroke of midnight, ready to declare it open with a huge pair of novelty scissors. No made up words this week, I'm not sure doing so is impactual enough, to be honest.
Speaking about the aforementioned with myself and Gareth Barker was Kristan Heneage and Roker Report's very own Craig Clark. There was one phone guest this week in the form of Marc Iles, the football reporter at Bolton News. He spoke us through the capabilities of new boy Marcos Alonso and left us all feeling quite encouraged.
Oh, oh, oh, we're also in a league cup semi-final. Just thought I'd remind those of us who have bothered with it this year.
