Jozy Altidore looks set to remain a Sunderland player today, despite brief rumours circulating earlier about a potential return to Holland.
The Daily Mail suggested that Sunderland were 'listening to offers' for the American, and a story linking him with a loan move to PSV Eindhoven soon followed.
However, the player's agent later insisted:
There is no truth to it.
Jozy is happy at Sunderland and is very happy with Gus as a manager. He is looking forward to tomorrow's derby with Newcastle.
Altidore's fellow striker Steven Fletcher had also been linked with a move away, but a bid was reportedly rebuffed by Sunderland yesterday.
But having secured the signing of Nacho Scocco, Poyet's focus seems to have turned to the midfield dilemma of whether to cash-in on Lee Cattermole and replace him, or leave things as they are until the summer.
