Mobido Diakite has completed his loan move to Serie A side Fiorentina, the club have confirmed.
The Frenchman only arrived in the summer and has made just 8 appearances in a Sunderland shirt. He initially seemed to feature quite prominently in Paolo Di Canio's plans this season, but since Gus Poyet's appointment he has found himself slipping down to essentially rock bottom in the pecking order.
That is largely down to his lack of comfort on the ball than anything else, although in truth his actual defending isn't anything special either. It's no real loss.
The interesting thing to watch will be whether a summer swap deal for Marcos Alonso, who is currently on loan from the Viola. That would certainly be a deal we could get on board with.
