With Sunderland reportedly interested in Ross McCormack of Leeds United, Steven Fletcher, Danny Graham and Connor Wickham have all been linked with moves away from the Stadium of Light today, we can now add Jozy Altidore to that list.
According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Altidore is no longer a part of Gus Poyet's plans and will look to offload the striker before the transfer window closes at 11pm;
Sunderland are listening to offers for USA striker Jozy Altidore today.
Manager Gus Poyet does not feel Altidore has a part to play in his plans at the Stadium of Light and will look to offload the forward today.
Will there be any takers for him, though?
Although Altidore's form in front of goal has been poor this season and he has been unable to replicate his goalscoring streak from AZ Alkmaar, it seems unlikely that we would sell the USA international during this window. Despite the arrival of Nacho Scocco, and the interest in McCormack, that would leave us with only the out of form Fletcher as an alternative to the newly signed Argentinian due to Fabio Borini usually deployed on the left wing.
