Youngster Headed To Hibs On Loan

Deadline day kicks off with news that one of Sunderland's impressive crop of youngsters is away on loan to play some football.

Sunderland winger Duncan Watmore is expected to join SPL club Hibernian on loan today, according to reports north of the boarder.

The 19-year-old has been a stand-out player in Kevin Ball's under-21s side this season and delivered a delicious cameo for the first team in the FA Cup third round against Carlisle earlier this month.

But it seems that he will be headed north to spend the rest of the season at Easter Road playing under former Sunderland defender and manager Terry Butcher (boooooo, hisssssssss, etc).

Hopefully, Watmore will be able to get regular starts and continue his development, because he certainly looks like a talented player

Watmore's departure is expected to be one of many today on Wearside, with the emphasis presumably being on balancing the books a little after (what looks like becoming) five new additions this month.
