It was only this morning that Sunderland were rumoured to be lining up a move for Vitória de Guimarães' young striker Tomané but our hopes of signing the player already seem to be over after his agent ruled out any transfer for the 21-year-old.
In an interview with Radio Santiago, Tomané's agent Carlos Gonçalves has said that he isn't aware of any offers to the Portuguese club for the player and is expected to remain at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques until the end of the season at least. Gonçalves also said that it's important for Tomané to continue learning at Vitória, where he has the trust of the club's manager Rui Vitória.
Sunderland may yet test the club and player's resolve before the end of the transfer window on Friday but it now looks likely that there will be no move for the Portuguese under-21 international during this window and we will have to wait and see if the club revisit their interest in the summer.
