Midfielder's Future Is At Sunderland

Emanuele Giaccherini's agent says his client will be remaining at Sunderland amid interest from Italian clubs.

Emanuele Giaccherini has had a difficult time at Sunderland of late, he has struggled to retain a place in the starting line-up and struggled to make an impact when he started against non-league Kidderminster Harriers at the weekend.

Despite which his agent, Fulvio Valcareggi, is adamant that the player will not be leaving Sunderland, especially when Sunderland's fortunes are improving;

Emanuele doesn't move from Sunderland, with a couple of wins the club can return to fight for Europe, the ranking is very short.

Valcareggi then said Giaccherini had spurned advances from Guangzhou Evergrande, Parma and Genoa and reiterated that the winger would remain on Wearside;

[Marcelo] Lippi wanted to tale him to China, but the guy does not move from England.

Parma also desire Giaccherini, [Pietro] Leonardi [Parma's Managing Director] contacted me because Biabiany could leave the club. With the English club there is an important contract that we want to respect, despite many offers.

Genoa also has tried to make an enquiry, but I repeat that the player remains in the Premier League.

With the player seemingly committed to Sunderland, for the rest of the season at least, hopefully we will see him recapture his best form in the second half of the season.
