Sky Sports News this morning suggest Sunderland are in the hunt for Blackpool's prized-asset, Tom Ince.
With Tom's father Paul leaving the Seasiders in a whirlwind of anger and confusion, it's suggested in the past few days that the club have decided that Ince junior's future should also lie away from Bloomfield Road.
It was highly anticipated that Swansea City would capture the England Under-21 star on a loan deal and news of Sunderland's apparent interest comes as something of a surprise.
It's known that Gus Poyet wants to add creation from midfield and a tricky winger is certainly on his radar having already seen a bid turned down for his former player Will Buckley.
For me Ince would be a huge upgrade on Buckley, and likely available for a similar fee with Ince's contract expiring at the end of the season.
With Swansea however having been in pole position for his signature I'd wager that this report of our interest is spurious at best, but you never know. It would certainly be a coup for Poyet and Sunderland to bring him to the club.
