After Ignacio 'Nacho' Scocco's father and agent both gave us an update on his future a couple of days ago, there had been no further news on the Argentine striker. That has now changed with Sunderland seemingly in a good position to sign the 28-year-old.
According to a producer at Argentinian newspaper TyC Sports, Cesar Luis Merlo, Sunderland are ahead of Cardiff in the race to sign Scocco, after both clubs made offers to purchase the striker on a permanent basis;
Translation: Internacional already have formal bids from Sunderland and Cardiff for Scocco. Both are purchase. The first club has the better chance.
Merlo then provided a further update, where he explained tomorrow could be pivotal to Scocco's future, with Sunderland overwhelming favourites to sign him;
Translation: They tell me that Nacho Scocco's future will be defined on Monday, Sunderland is much, much closer to signing him than Cardiff.
Hopefully we will receive a further update on the Scocco front on Monday but with Sunderland desperate for a new striker and the transfer window closing on Friday, they will have to be quick if they want to push through a deal and beat Cardiff City to the Argentina international.
