The future of Ignacio Scocco may be resolved soon, with his father saying his son's choice is between Sunderland and Cardiff City. In an interview with Radio Gaucha, Hector Scocco gave an update on his son's future;
The last news we have is what we all know, offers from England, Sunderland and Cardiff.
His father then went on to defend his son from accusations that he no longer wanted to play in Brazil, explaining that the problem was with Internacional and the lack of playing time for the 28-year-old;
It's not that he does not like Brazilian soccer. The problem is that he had no motivation to keep playing at Inter and nothing more. The problem was with Inter and not with clubs in Brazil. I would like to make that clear
They also say he failed because Nacho played twenty matches and scored four goals. It's not true, because most of these matches he played 15 or 20 minutes. In many games he did not start.
Scocco's agent, Fabian Soldini, also spoke of the Argentine striker's future and said offers from Italy and Spain had been rejected by Internacional and Scocco's future lies in England;
Catania was really interested in the player, but the intention of the club was to take the striker on loan. Internacional does not want to cede Scocco on a temporary basis, the Brazilians are only willing to sell the player outright.
Even the Spanish club [Valencia] - as well as Catania - wanted to engage in discussion for a loan, but Internacional refused.
Scocco's future will be in the Premier League, where a club is negotiating to buy the player outright.
With only a week left of the transfer window, if Sunderland wish to beat Cardiff to his signature, they will need to hurry considering how difficult signing players from Argentina has been for the club recently.
