A complimentary bus service to and from the Stadium of Light to St James' Park is available for all Sunderland supporters with a valid match ticket for the forthcoming Tyne-Wear derby on Saturday 1st February.
The game kicks off at 12:45pm and buses will depart from the Stadium of Light from 10:30am. Buses will board from the Green Car Park area, next to the ticket office/Black Cat House. The bus convoy will be escorted by Northumbria Police for the duration of the journey.
The east stand concourse at the Stadium of Light will be open for the comfort of supporters from 09:45am. Bar and catering services will be available, along with toilet facilities, until the buses depart.
Sunderland AFC head of safety Paul Weir, said: "We received a lot of positive feedback from supporters regarding the buses last season, in particular the speed in which they returned to the stadium after the game. The first convoy had completed its journey before the first special Metro train had even left Newcastle.
"We would therefore urge as many supporters as possible to take advantage of the free bus service. Safety is always our priority and the complimentary buses afford the safest and quickest way for fans to make the journey to and from St James' Park.
We echo the sentiments here really. The club backed the fans and helped restore their right to choose how to travel to the game, but the buses - for the vast majority - will be the most sensible choice.
We'd certainly join the club in urging as many fans as possible to take advantage of the offer.
