Did Sunderland truly make an offer for Galatasaray's Portuguese winger Bruma? Surely not. However, a document has been leaked in Turkey which supposedly offers 'proof' that it did.
The document appears to be an official correspondence from Sunderland AFC - a written offer to loan the player for 550,000 Euros.
We have to very vehemently stress here that we have no idea of the validity or authenticity of the document. It wouldn't be a tough thing to photoshop. Why anyone would is another question. It has nothing to do with us really. It's out there now regardless. We are just trying to give it a little context.
The article itself claims that Galatasaray were happy to allow the loan, but were reluctant to sanction a permanent deal, hence the very high stated price of 17million Euros to make the deal permanent. It was essentially to deter a bid after the loan.
Make your own minds up.
