Yesterday Brighton's manager Oscar Garcia explained how he left out Liam Bridcutt from their 1-0 defeat at Brighton due to the player saying he would not be fully focused on the game because of the speculation surrounding him.
Now Bridcutt's Brighton teammate, Andrea Orlandi, has admitted that the player wants to play in the Premier League for Gus Poyet;
We know the situation. He probably wants to leave, he wants to play in the Premier League so fair enough.
He wants to work with Gus again. He was successful with him.
Although he missed yesterday's game, Orlandi is confident that Bridcutt will still give his all for the Brighton cause;
I think Liam's attitude has been spot on because he has been training and he hasn't said anything to us.
But it is a situation the club needs to sort out as soon as possible and then, if he eventually stays, he will give 110% as he always has.
With less than two weeks left of the transfer window, Sunderland will need to up their £2.5m bid if they wish to sign the midfielder and it seems to be at the point now, that the sooner the transfer is wrapped up, the better it will be for all three parties.
