Sunderland Vs Southampton: Confirmed Lineups

Sunderland take on Southampton today, and here's the lineups...

Clive Rose

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet opts to bring in Jozy Altidore ahead of Steve Fletcher. With both strikers searching for goals it seems the American is the one who wins the lottery today.

The rest of the team lines up pretty much as expected. After his agent whinging this week Seb Larsson gets a start in midfield ahead of Jack Colback.

No surprises on the bench either, just the usual fare.

Sunderland (4-3-3): Vito Mannone, Phil Bardsley, Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Marcos Alonso, Lee Cattermole, Ki Sung-Yeung, Seb Larsson, Adam Johnson, Jozy Altidore, Fabio Borini

Substitutes: Jordan Pickford, Craig Gardner, Steven Fletcher, Jack Colback, Emanuele Giaccherini, Ondrej Celustka, Valentin Roberge.

Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino makes one change from the side that played in their last game against whoever it was, I'm reliably told by people on Twitter.

That change being Calum Chambers coming in for Nathaniel Clyne at right-back, in what remains a strong lineup despite changes at the top within the club.

Southampton (4-2-3-1): Artur Boruc, Calum Chambers, Jose Fonte, Dejan Lovren, Luke Shaw, Morgan Schneiderlin, Jack Cork, Steven Davis, Adam Lallana, Ricky Lambert, Jay Rodriguez.

Substitutes: Kelvin Davis, Nathaniel Clyne, Maya Yoshida, Gaston Ramirez, James Ward-Prowse, Guly Do Prado, Jos Hooiveld.
