Week Thirty-Seven Recap
Pundit | Last Week's Profit/Loss | Current Balance |
Luke Bowley | £5.50 | £139.54 |
Karl Jones | -£20.00 | £28.25 |
Craig Clark | £11.63 | £24.34 |
David Boyle | -£20.00 | £18.34 |
Chris Weatherspoon | N/A | -£19.50 |
Simon Walsh | -£15.00 | -£101.00 |
As Sunderland added a point to their total to edge them closer to survival on Sunday, Luke also nudged himself... who am I kidding, Bowley has blown the competition out of the water and added a further £5.50 to his impressive haul with a single on Liverpool to beat Fulham. Only a miracle of a bet from the rest of the lads could see Bowley lose the title on the last weekend of the season.
Craig managed to lift himself into third spot at the expense of yours truly with his win or draw bet on the lads.
For everyone else, well we went big and went home.
David Boyle
Sunday sees a tricky trip to Whit Hart Lane but one that no longer carries with it any lingering fear of relegation thanks to Arsenal's victory over Wigan midweek. That said the game still carries great importance for the home side and their bid for Champions League football and as such I can see Spurs winning this one to nil.
Elsewhere I am going to have a stab at a massive Premier League Acca to try and climb up the table on the final day!
- Tottenham to win to nil - 3/2 - £10 Stake
- Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Swansea, Tottenham and Manchester United to win - 32/1 - £8.34 Stake
Luke Bowley
It appears to be time for my victory lap. Like Alfred N'Diaye I've arrived halfway through the season and blasted apart the competition, and though some have been worried I'm not going to take this last round of fixtures seriously, they have no reason to be concerned as I look to to protect the integrity of the competition, and for that reason I'm going for Sunderland to beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Elsewhere I'm looking to the Slovenian League for a final big win. Champions Maribor should win their game, as should Ljubljana and Koper. Meanwhile I'd expect draws between Gorica and Triglav, and between Rudar and Domzale.
- Sunderland to beat Tottenham - 11/1 - £5 stake
- Koper, Maribor and Ol Ljubljana all to win, Gorica/ND Triglav and Rudar Velenje/Domzale to draw - 38/1 - £5 stake
Simon Walsh
Well I'm clearly going to lose this. Or so you'd think. So what's the harm in putting a bit more on too? I might as well go all out for the victory here with a triumphant longshot.
Sunderland against Tottenham isn't going to be our day. A draw is the best we could hope for and that's really, really hoping with all my might. If I hope that much will we get it? It's worth a few quid at 4/1.
Elsewhere get ready for a monster of an accumulator. Wins for... Audax Italiano, Kashiwa Reysol, Urawa Reds, Cesena, Aberdeen, Port Talbot Town, Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo.
- Sunderland & Tottenham to draw - 4/1 - £5 Stake
- All them above to win - 148/1 - £5 Stake
Craig Clark
We aren't going to beat Spurs are we? We are safe, they need to win to have any chance of finishing in the top 4. Even with the pressure off, we'll be without yet another player this weekend as Danny Rose is unavailable. I'm going for Spurs to destroy us, ending a miserable season and hopefully a few of our players' time at the club. Let the summer overhaul begin.
Elsewhere, a few sides are in need of wins to secure European football and survival. With these teams needing something against sides who have little to play for, I expect them all to win: Hamburg, Frankfurt, Valencia, Fiorentina, Milan, Lazio, Udinese, Lille.
- Spurs to beat Sunderland 4-0 - 30/1 - £5 stake
- All of the above to win - 155/1 - £2 stake
