Hearts of Oak striker, Mahatma Otoo, has been strongly linked with Sunderland in recent weeks, with the 21-year-old being recommened to the Black Cats by their partner club Asante Kotoko.
Ghanian club Hearts of Oak recently denied that they had any official offers for the new Ghanian international, with their spokesman telling Accra based Hot FM;
We as a club have received no offers for the services of Mahatma Otoo, if anything at all, it will be at a personal level where a club might have made a personal contact with the player or his manager.
But as a club, no official interest has been registered.
However it looks like that may have changed with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns credited with an official offer after the Hearts of Oak chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, told Kessben FM;
There is interest of course; there is interest from Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa.
There is a definite interest from Mamelodi Sundowns but of course it is not only about Hearts of Oak.
The interest from Sunderland, I only read in the daily newspapers and I have checked from the secretariat there is no official offer made for the player.
We will have to wait and see whether this offer spurs Sunderland into immediate action or whether we decide to wait until the summer, as the player will be out of contract and available on a free but the player himself has admitted it's his dream to play in England;
I am delighted with my season so far. There is interest from other clubs. I have heard about Lyon through the papers. I have heard about Sunderland as well. I would love to play in England one day. My destiny will take me there and it is my dream to score at Old Trafford, the Emirates, Anfield and Wembley.
