Sunday is no day of rest for Sunderland as two upcoming games have been moved due to their involvement in the Europa League.
First of all the trip to Chelsea will now be played on Sunday the 7th of April, still maintaining a 3pm kick-off due to the Blues' clash with Rubin Kazan in the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday the 5th of April.
While they get a day of rest, we still could harbour a very, very slim chance of getting something with Rafael Benitez' men facing a horrendous run of games prior to the Stamford Bridge clash. By slim we mean near non-existent, bust still slim nonetheless.
Meanwhile the bigger news is that the away Tyne-Wear derby clash with Newcastle United will be played on Sunday April 14th, with a noon kick-off in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Mags are in action a couple of days earlier against Benfica in their Europa League quarter final, where hopefully following a spate of injuries and an agonizing defeat on penalties they are mentally drained and exhausted and unable to compete with any great ferocity in one of the biggest games of the season.
A boy can dream anyway.
